FAQ

Q. What is your wedding photography style?
My philosophy is simple; capture the moment as it happens. It is a blend of traditional posed images and storytelling photojournalism. My true passion and talent are best seen in the spontaneous approach to wedding photography that allows me to capture all the emotions of a wedding, the joy, laughter, excitement and anticipation.

Q. No reprints prices listed on this site. Why?
More brides are requesting a copy of wedding images to make their own enlargements. However if you prefer the photographer to place a reprint order, feel free to contact or email me at amywilsonphoto@hotmail.com for reprint prices.

Q. Will you be the one who photographs our wedding?
Yes. I will be the one. I never contract out other photographers to shot my weddings.

Q. How long you've been photographing weddings?
Over 12 years in wedding photography. Since 1996.

Q. What type of equipment do you use?
I am shooting with two high end digital Canon cameras, top of the line lenses and other equipment. Rarely do I use film.

Q. Do you charge for retouching?
It will have to depend on the image in question. If it requires major retouching, then my professional lab will do the work.  Before any retouching is to be made on an image, a 50% deposit is required.

Q. Should we meet?
I do recommend visiting all your wedding vendors before making any decision.

Q. Do we have to sign a contract?
Yes.

Q. What is your minimum coverage?
All my packages have unlimited coverage. I don’t enjoy hunting down my clients demanding overtime fees during the wedding. The average wedding last no more than 8 hours. My rates are adjusted for the all day coverage. No need to worry. I am with you from start to finish.

Q. How long should we wait until we can see our photos?
Allow 7 to 10 business days.

Q. What type of albums do you offer?
I offer many styles from companies such as Zookbinders, Asukabook and Art Leather. The most popular are the digital books. I do charge a design fee plus the cost of the album if you choose a Zookbinder or Asuka Book. The big trend now, you can design your own album via internet. Since my package includes a copy of your wedding images, you can make your own album and save!

Q. How long does it take to get the album?
Custom album is normally ready within 2-3 months after selection is made. It also depends how fast all necessary selections are made.

Q. How many images can I put on a page?
I have TONS of templates to choose from that will have one to twelve images to a page.

Q. Can I purchase additional pages?
Yes. Price will vary depending on the style of album you choose.

Q. Do you offer engagement photography?
Yes.

Q. Can we have additional parent books?
Yes. Again the photographer can design an album or you have the option to any company on the internet to make your a parent album and save.

Q. How much extra for destination weddings?
It depends on location and how far. Please call or email at amywilsonphoto@hotmail.com.

Q. What is the best advice you can give us?
Perhaps two advices that I think would be helpful. First: By planning the Ceremony during daylight hours and making sure the Reception lighting is not completely dimmed you will help your photographer to minimize the use of flashes. Your photographs will look more attractive plus your guests will suffer less from blinding flashes.

The second advice is: try to limit the guest photography. Especially when it interferes with professional photographer. The atmosphere of your Ceremony affected already by the presence of hired photographers, assistants and videographers. Now imagine guests standing around you entire Ceremony with flashing and beeping consumer cameras, preventing a photographer from taking important images and ruining your elegant ceremony atmosphere. Imagine also the traditional posed photos, your photographer will be taking, competing with a number of paparazzi guests trying to get an attention of your family during that time. It not only will distract the subject(s) from looking at the main camera, but will also extend the session itself, taking away valuable time could be spent with family and guests.
